THE ITALIAN CHAMBER MUSIC IN THE WORLD
In the classical music world, Italy is mostly famous for its opera tradition, spacing from Donizetti to Puccini. Its rich chamber music tradition is largely unknown. Still, this tradition is full of masterpieces, and it has great potential thanks to the variety of musical styles characterizing its composers. For this reason, Trio Rigamonti designed a series of two-year projects to promote Italian chamber music: every two years the ensemble will present a concert program to various Italian and foreign concert institutions, putting side by side classical and contemporary compositions. The aim is to promote Italian chamber music and contemporary Italian composers, creating a connection between the past and the present, with the hope to consolidate the contemporary repertoire into a tradition for future generations. Every concert program will be performed multiple times in different locations, to consistently promote these compositions and boost the interest of other chamber ensembles and concert organizers. Finally, the culmination of each project will be a recording.
The first programme will be proposed from January 2024 until the end of 2025 and recorded and published by STRADIVARIUS label in 2025:
